The story of Mrs. Weaver's portrait in the children's room is shrouded in mystery. A recently discovered photo from 1964 revealed that the painting looked different then than it does now. Further research uncovered that the painting was damaged in a break-in at the library in 1974.

Who was responsible for the damage? What was the extent of restoration required? Is it even the same painting?
